The documentary is about how prisoners made several attempts to escape Oflag IV-C, which was one of the most infamous German Army prisoner-of-war camps for WW2 officers. The camp, located in Colditz Castle, on a cliff that overlooked Colditz in Saxony town, had been declared escape-proof by Field Marshal Hermann Göring. Between 30 and 36 men of British, French, Canadian, Polish, Belgian, and Dutch origins managed to escape. The documentary is about these escapes and the planning, ingenuity, and bravery that went into them.

Another of the top history programs is the Tony Robinson presented Time Team. The British TV documentary series has been on Channel 4 since 1994. The episode features teams of specialists who are carrying out archaeological digs over 3 days, with the presenter explaining the process.
